Astley is pleased to have been a signage partner to BP historically, supporting them with a full range of design, manufacture, installation and maintenance across their forecourt in the UK. It was particularly exciting therefore, when we were asked to be a part of the development of their BP Pulse charging hubs.
As new energy solutions are being introduced, it’s important that we are able to respond and support clients from this sector with the development of their ‘forecourts of the future’. As part of this process, we undertook extensive prototyping at our Gateshead facility, translating the BP Pulse brand into the physical space.
The first dedicated rapid charging hub for their Uber partnership was launched in 2021, and we are pleased to say that our development of their brand into this underground parking space has become a showcase for the brand, appearing in their promotional advertising.

Astley doesn’t just support clients like BP Pulse with signage.

As part of our list of support services we can also audit a site and provide additional consultancy on issues such as illumination of branded assets, conditions of wall and floor surfaces and we can carefully evaluate and organise other services such as painting and cleaning to successfully create that ideal user-focussed environment.

With one of the sites for BP Pulse there was a significantly sloping ceiling which meant that illumination of the charge points was challenging. We underwent extensive testing of various illumination methods at our facility in Gateshead by creating a prototype bay, allowing the client the ideal opportunity to have sight of the best options available before implementation.
