astley has been supporting BP for over 4 years, manufacturing, installing and maintaining forecourt and kiosk signage across the UK. Supported by our superb PFS team, BP’s programme in 2018 won us the award for Rollout of the Year at our industry’s key event, an excellent accolade when considering the work produced by our competitors.

This multi-year agreement with BP following a worldwide competitive tender process and this agreement required us to design, manufacture, and install signage for both company and dealer-owned sites across the UK, an estate of 1200 service stations.

Sign types produced include:

Totem Signs / Canopy Panels / BP Helios / Max Height Sign / Stanchion Numbers / Stanchion LED / Spreader Sign / Secondary Signage (Disabled & Air Sign) / Pump Decals

Another in-house service that BP make best use of is our creative studio, who produce and manage signage manuals for the sites. Working with the BP brand guidelines, our highly skilled designers identify elements on site for branding and then adapt the signage manual rules for rollout programmes. This is an invaluable extended resource for brands such as BP, who no longer need to necessarily work with multiple agencies to deliver the end programme.

...innovative solutions

Another supportive customised service we introduced specifically for BP was an online App, developed by us, that offers them the opportunity to receive survey details of their sites in real-time from the surveyor on site.

As part of our relationship supporting BP, astley are required to survey, prepare and cost all dealer sites, and during busy periods this can see us surveying 15-20 sites per week! We realised that in theory, we could potentially develop a piece of customised software that would enable us to complete this process with the quick turn around that the BP BDM’s require.

We developed an online app which now enables us to survey and complete the validation on site and even sent straight to the BDM if required. This has greatly improved our turnaround time for validations and has assisted BP in preparing site costs.

working safely

Our PFS installation crews, surveyors and project managers each hold SPA documentation authorising them to work on live petrol forecourts.

Our engineers are trained in all areas of health and safety standards and carry IPAF certificates for working with access equipment such as scaffolding and moving platforms, SPA Safety Passports for working in or near hazardous locations such as fuel stations, special licenses for driving and operating HIAB trucks and cranes, PASMA for mobile access equipment and first aid qualifications.

We have a dedicated installation department which schedules and coordinates the timetable of our engineers. Installations are programmed to coincide with the completion of manufacture and crews are nominated ahead of the project deadline.
