Installation, Maintenance & Logistics Manager

Astley is an award winning UK Company, providing complete signage and graphics solutions from concept design, through to final installation.

We are currently looking to recruit an Installations Manager to lead the national installations department and control the department budget. You will be responsible for co-ordination and supervision of ALL Astley Signs fixing and delivery crews, liaise closely with both project and manufacturing departments ensuring all installations are carried out to client expectations within the prescribed quality, budget, and time restraints.

Key Competencies:

    • Being able to manage and prioritise installation schedules at the same time as delivering efficient logistics is imperative
    • Good man management skill and possess good leadership ability, as well as the ability to work as part of a team
    • Logistically aware Experienced in movement of crews and product
    • Ability to read and interpret specifications and ability to read and understand CAD drawings and plans
    • Ability to work and carry out projects within a stipulated time frame or deadline.
    • Computer literate (Excel/ Word/ Outlook)
    • Commercial awareness
    • Good communication skills with clients, contractors, colleagues, sub-contractors and suppliers
    • Commercial awareness
    • The job would be suited to a site manager or ex site manager who is looking for a more office-based role

Roles and responsibilities:

    • Lead, empower and develop the Installation team.
    • Oversee the logistical requirements of multiple installations simultaneously.
    • Successfully meet ongoing targets, ensuring installations are completed on time, on budget and as efficiently as possible. Regularly review timings, budget, labour requirements, risk and installation plans to ensure work stays on track and profitable.
    • Ensure all supervised staff and team members are meeting the relevant objectives and responsibilities.
    • Ensure labour costs are minimised and carry out regular analysis of estimated v actual labour times achieved, providing regular reports on findings of both to the management team.
    • Manage and update training certificates for team.
    • To lead on installation related toolbox talks and ensure that appropriate follow-up actions are undertaken.
    • To oversee that all accommodation (adhering to Company guidelines) is arranged or authorised prior to crews going to site.
    • Reporting of monthly accommodation spend and highlighting of any potential savings.
    • Assist in the co-ordination of any snagging works or remedial programmes.
    • Carry out annual performance reviews with both Astley and subcontract fixing teams.
    • Oversee the recruitment of staff for the Installation Department with the assistance of Personnel Manager, in line with Company procedures.
    • Ensure that ISO9001 responsibilities and authorities are defined and communicated within the organisation and that all personnel are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute.
    • To assist with and implement findings from any internal audits, training and toolbox talks carried out in relation to processes within the Installation Department and the business in general
    • Ensure company vans are well maintained, that drivers submit regular maintenance reports and that required servicing and MOTs are undertaken as required.
    • Attend relevant training courses where required.
