Offering a concept-to-completion solution

Building signage creates a brand’s first impression, making it essential for attracting attention and reinforcing identity

Whether it’s a shop, office or venue sign, Astley helps businesses translate their brand into and onto their properties.

Offering a concept-to-completion solution from site survey and sign design through to quality manufacture and install, we are considered the ‘go-to’ partner for building signage in the UK.

Signs for buildings include:

Sunlit cityscape with tall buildings, including Leonardo Royal Hotels, against a bright sky.

Architectural signage

Architectural signage is custom-built for longevity and integrated into the building design, using premium materials, hidden fixings, and expert installation to set a bold brand standard. (Planning consent usually required.)

Building exterior with "Salts Healthcare" logo illuminated against a clear blue sky.

Illuminated signage

Illuminated signage enhances brand presence day and night, with tailored LED tones and material choices offering creative flexibility while meeting sustainability goals. (Planning consent usually required.)

Workers on a rooftop install a large pink sign with "LEONARDO" on a brick building.

Panel signage

Panel signs are often a more cost-effective choice for shopfronts, offering flexibility through layered materials and optional illumination. Made from solid substrates such as aluminium composite (ACM), acrylic, foamex, or dibond (Planning may not be required if under 0.3m² and non-illuminated.)

Storefront of Currys with a large purple sign and glass entrance doors.

Flexface

Although still a panel, flexface signs are built using tensioned PVC banner material, stretched over a frame and clipped or locked into a frame system and pulled tight. Often used in retail parks and illuminated.

Pub sign with three men in England football shirts, labeled "The Three Lions.

Projecting & hanging signage

Projecting and hanging signs are ideal for enhancing visibility on approach, helping to guide customers and clearly mark your brand’s location. (Planning consent usually required.)

Storefront window display with images of pizza, pasta, and rice dishes under a welcome sign.

Window graphics

Maximum building space and the opportunity to communicate key messaging via impactful window graphics. (NB. Planning consent required in most circumstances)

Digital signage

To enhance traditional signage, many brands integrate digital elements – such as interactive screens for customer engagement or window displays promoting products and services. (Planning consent usually required.)

Our building signage projects:

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to have a sign on my building?

We’d love to be able to answer this straight away…but there are so many factors to consider.

From the actual design of the sign (eg. panel, built-up, illuminated, non-illuminated) to considerations on the building surface, structural integrity, fixing methodology and access needed for the installation, it’s impossible to offer an accurate cost without our teams understanding more precise details.

We do have a good guide though that would start you off. You can download the Guide here

I don’t have a design yet…can you help?

Yes! We’re pleased to offer all the services you need in-house and actually, our teams offer the ideal solution as they understand HOW to make the product as well as design it.

We can also offer prototyping in-house so that you can review material, colour, illumination and other key characteristics before pushing the button! To learn more about our design services, click here

Yes! We have won awards for our rollout capabilities. We are one of the largest signmakers in the country with two production facilities and multiple installation and maintenance crews ideally located so that we can work sustainably and efficiently on substantial and/or complex programs.
