Delivering consistent, value-engineered brand graphics across the estate

astley has supported Sainsbury’s with comprehensive brand implementation services since 2003, managing brand rollouts and signage solutions across their diverse UK store estate.

Working closely with Sainsbury’s in-house teams and appointed design partners, we have delivered consistent, high-quality brand graphics across new builds and concept stores, refurbishments, convenience stores, petrol stations and bespoke projects.

Our scope of work includes internal and external signage such as fascia signage, totems, thermoformed lettering, window graphics, and aisle directories.

Protecting the brand with a strong focus on health & safety, operational standards, and sustainability, we ensure every installation reflects Sainsbury’s brand values. Additionally, our in-house creative services allow us to conceptualise and value-engineer signage solutions that are not only visually effective but also practical to manufacture – offering our clients greater efficiency and cost savings through fully managed signage manuals and rollout programmes.

Our role

As one of the leading grocery retailers in the UK, Sainsbury’s need an expert signage and brand implementation partner who can manage the complexity and scale of their nationwide store network while maintaining strict brand consistency and compliance with health & safety and sustainability standards.

With frequent rebrand and refresh programmes, seasonal campaigns, and a variety of site types – from new builds to refurbishments and petrol stations – they require a partner capable of delivering high-quality, durable signage across multiple environments. Importantly, they need a partner who can not only manufacture and install signage but also provide creative input and technical guidance to ensure all brand graphics are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with their evolving visual identity.

Our solution
