In their 1999 rebrand, Hilton invited a selected group of proven signage manufacturers to develop proposals for their updated identity, with a specific challenge: illuminated lettering that appeared blue by day and white by night. While others had struggled, astley’s prototypes proved so effective that we were commissioned to deliver a full pilot scheme at their London Heathrow Hotel.
This success led to a broader scope of work, including signage audits across Hilton’s UK estate, planning applications, technical development, and final implementation. Over 8 months, our team designed, manufactured, and installed signage at 82 Hilton Hotels, ranging from individual internally-illuminated letters to monoliths, remote directional signs, and stainless-steel fascia signage.
We continue to support Hilton with their estate branding requirements, now also involved in the signage for their sub-brands: DoubleTree, LXR, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Grand Vacations.
