Assembly Apprentice

Introduction to the role

We are currently looking to recruit an assembly apprentice for our assembly department in Gateshead, producing high quality signage for leading brands in the UK. This role will be responsible for manufacture and assembly of signage and display products. There is also the possibility of development and growth within this role for the right candidate.

What you'll do:

Manufacture, assemble and finish signage and display products from supplied drawings
Become fully competent in the use of hand tools and workshop machinery
Gain good knowledge in manufacturing and assembly techniques including, woodworking, metal working, electrical assembly (LEDs) and plastic fabrication
Learn how to ensure production requirements are met regarding quality, cost effectiveness and on time delivery
Learn how to ensure all working hours and information is logged to assist accurate costing and data analysis
Learn how to manage your own H&S in accordance with the Astley H&S Policy and take responsibility for the upkeep of your allocated work area
