Signage Manuals & Site Packs

Consolidating sign specification into site specific collateral

Centralising brand implementation into brand packs

Once sign specifications have been approved, our teams can centralise them into over-arching signage manuals and/or site specific signage packs.

Consistency across any form of brand implementation is key, and our in-house designers understand how to consolidate approved sign designs into signage manuals and site packs.

Signage manuals encompass every element of how a brand is physically translated into a space, providing every variation, carefully detailing key characteristics such as dimension, colour matching across different applications, finishes, illumination and fixing methodology and all other aspects to ensure that any stakeholder understands how to apply the brand into a space.

Site packs use this information and apply it to a specific location. In response to a survey, our team create comprehensive site packs that carefully evaluate the space(s) available, taking into account types of architecture and main function9s) of the branding at the site, before proposing what type of signage to apply. This document will be used by client and our manufacture and project delivery teams as the key reference for the programme of works.

Questions answered in these documents include:

  • What is the function of the brand in this space?
  • How will this sign enhance the customer journey?
  • How will this sign be manufactured and fitted?
  • How will the be sign illuminated and where are the electricity points? (if applicable)
  • Does all the information provided allow any other brand implementation partner to apply it consistently?

Everything you need to know in one document

Site packs form the central information source for all the project stakeholders that are part of a branding exercise. It is therefore essential that they are carefully designed to answer any questions about how the brand should look at the location.

Our design team work closely with the client to ensure that the primary purpose of the brand is reflected in how it is applied. Will it answer it’s function? Will it perform as expected? If it is a piece of wayfinding, is it positioned at the right location? All these questions are carefully answered in these documents to ensure that the customer journey is seamless.

Installation engineers also use these documents to understand what to expect when they arrive on site, and use the drawings and photographs captured at survey to advise them of what is expected for final implementation.

FAQs

I know what type of signs my estate needs - do I need a signage manual?

Our advise would always be yes! You may know what your signs should look like but unless there is a document that consolidates key application information such as how the colour should be matched across application, there is a heightened risk of inconsistency.

For current and future branding partners to be able to apply your brand consistently, a set of rules is advisable in the form of a signage manual, so that there is no room for interpretation (or misinterpretation). Having an over-arching guide ensures that when your brand is used in a new space, it will look the same as other locations.

Why do I need a site pack as I know where my signs need to go?

Every location is different, and having a site pack that can be shared by current and future teams will ensure that should a sign need an update, the replacement will look the same.

I have someone in-house that can provide a document - will that do?

We are always happy to offer our in-house resource or work with client supplied documents. It may be that our teams require more in-depth information regarding the application however, so we would always like to review what is shared initially.
