Production Team Vacancies
Due to an increase in workload within our Production Teams we have a number of permanent roles currently available. If you have the relevant experience to fulfil one of these roles we look forward to hearing from you.
Candidates will have experience of sheet metalworking and metal forming, and all associated processes such as grinding / dressing etc. to a high cosmetic finish. The role will involve the fabrication of light to medium weight frames and structures. Tack welding (MIG) of light gauge aluminium and steel. The successful candidate will be proficient with hand tools (e.g. drills). Experience of operating the following equipment would be a distinct advantage :
- Bending rolls
- Non-ferrous cutting
Brake Press Operator
Experience of general metal working would be a distinct advantage, with prior use of Guillotine and Folding Machines preferred.
Vinyl Applicator / Operative
Working in our vinyl and digital print department you will primarily be employed in the preparation and application of pre-cut vinyls on to various finished sign substrates. You will also be required to assist with the vinyl cutting process and the finishing of digital prints. Previous experience of associated software would be a distinct advantage.
The site runs a number of shifts and candidates who can be flexible with their availability for working hours are particularly of interest.

1924 – Astley Signs begins trading in Lancashire, UK as H. Astley & Co.
1988 – Two of the current directors establish a 1500sq ft metal shop in north east England and trade as Astley Signs North East
1990 – Following a management buy out the company is now The Redforrest Group and moves to new premises in Gateshead
1992 – Professional Sign Systems is launched as a trade division
2003 – Sainsbury's joins the company's blue chip client list
2004 – The company opens an installation hub in Glasgow
2006 – The Group opens a depot in Leeds
2007 – The Redforrest Group opens an office in Milton Keynes and the company's print division, Jigsaw, begins providing point of sale and retail graphics to a range of clients
2010 – The company opens a purpose built head office in Gateshead and Saltwell Signs becomes part of The Redforrest Group
2012 – The company re-brands as Astley offering Astley Signs, Astley Imaging and Astley Maintenance with offices in Gateshead, Leeds, Glasgow and Milton Keynes
2014 – Astley is named Manufacturer of the Year at the Tyneside and Northumberland Business Awards
